The Organizational Default Camera Settings section defines the standard recording and maintenance schedules for all cameras within the organization. These settings help ensure consistency and reliability in camera operations.
Recording Schedule
Frequency - Defines how often cameras record (e.g., Every Day, Weekdays).
Start/End Time - Specifies the recording period (e.g., 00:00 – 24:00 for continuous recording).
Add/Delete - Use the “+” icon to add additional schedules or the trash icon to remove them.
Example: For continuous recording, select Every Day and set 00:00 – 24:00.
Maintenance Schedule
Weekly Maintenance - Choose a fixed day and time window (e.g., Wednesday 04:00–06:00).
Emergency Updates - Define an emergency update window (e.g., Any Day 04:00–06:00).
Tip: Schedule maintenance during low-traffic periods to minimize system downtime.
Saving Changes
Click Save to apply updates across all cameras.
Click Cancel to discard unsaved modifications.
Important: Cameras can have individual recording and update schedules that differ from the organization's default settings. This flexibility is essential for several operational reasons. For example:
Critical Coverage Areas – Cameras monitoring high-security zones (e.g., server rooms or cash-handling areas) may require continuous recording to ensure optimal security.
Low-Traffic Zones – Cameras in less active areas (e.g., storage rooms or hallways) might follow a reduced recording schedule to conserve system resources.
Staggered Updates – During firmware rollouts, it may be necessary to keep certain cameras online (e.g., those monitoring entrances) while others are temporarily taken offline to avoid surveillance gaps.
